So mommy declared that 2020 is the year of Zeus on her facebook. She talked about being magical like me and making the most of every day. Well today I knew my friend, my water therapist, was hurting. She has been really sad and today is her mommy’s birthday who is also in heaven (but my mommy didn’t know any of this). The last time mommy saw her was the day before I left my earth body a couple years ago. So I had to find a way to get to her to make her happy!  So I’ll let mommy tell you what happened:

First instance of Zuzu magic in 2020 – If you like happy signs from beyond read on 🙂 Today I was looking for a dry cleaner and saw one that was a little far, but had great reviews and I recognized the name of the city. As I got close I realized it looked familiar. I made a wrong turn and there was a HUGE sign that said “Animal adoptions HERE with an arrow pointing to a shelter.” Then I saw some very familiar landmarks and realized I was on the exact route to where Zeus went to water therapy after his leg amputation. With the cleaners literally 1.5 miles down the same road I decided maybe this was a sign I should drop in to say “Hi” to Zeus’ water therapist Jenn. We hadn’t seen each other in over 2 years since the day before he passed. Jenn and Zeus had a really special bond and she helped him overcome his anxiety and even saw him when he was too sick to do therapy for “treat time.”

I walked in hoping she was there and heard Darius Rucker playing on the radio “I only wanna be with you” (from Hootie & the Blowfish), who is significant to me pertaining to Zeus as I dreamt of one of his songs the night Zeus passed and woke up and pulled it up and the video is of an area identical to where I took Zeus on his boat ride the day he passed and was titled “My Comeback Song”. The front desk staff found her and we were both almost in tears as she told me today is a really significant, but sad day for her and she was literally just telling her coworker that the past couple of days had been so hard and she needed some good things to happen and then boom Zeus sent me to come say, “Hi.” *Zeus has also done this for another friend of mine where her mom was very ill 🙂 

I continue to be AMAZED at what our sweet Zeus does to not only comfort me, but all the people who he loved so dearly and were part of his journey. They truly are never gone. Zeus you certainly brought us together today and brightened your friend’s day. xoxoxo

So my newest way of showing mommy angel signs is to have my best friend show up after mommy has talked about or visited me. My best friend lived next door, but she moved away awhile ago so mommy rarely sees her. She is actually the person who came with mommy to the memorial park and helped bury me and decorate my memorial. She even gave me special angel lights. I didn’t bond with a lot of people, but the first time she saw me she told mommy she LOVED her new dog. She would always come outside and call my name and I would run right over to the fence and she’d hop over to play or give me my pets over the fence. Mommy took these screen shots from my last video with her. I just adored her and she adored me.

When I would go outside I’d always look for her. So when mommy went to visit me this summer and came back home she was in the backyard and the next thing she knew my friend walked outside (daddy had let her in). Mommy was in shock she told her she had just visited me that morning and just knew I’d sent my friend over to let her know I knew she and Jasper came to see me. My friend also got to meet my new little brother and thought he was hilarious. He goes nuts when he meets new people – he’s a bit different than me that way- he will run up and hug anyone! Mommy says she has to be careful nobody steals him because he would go anywhere with anyone. She says he does a good job helping to fight stereotypes about pitties. He’s just a goofball.

Then mommy was making a facebook post about me and not a few seconds after she hit the “post” button… she heard a knock at the door… yep it was my best friend standing there. Mommy was shocked! She told her she was never gonna believe that she had just posted about me online seconds before. I got her attention for sure. Mommy just had to smile and laugh because I’m always going to find a way to get her attention she just never knows how or when. I mean mommy’s are forever right? So a little thing like a body never stopped me from visiting.  

First mommy said she is SOOO embarrassed that she has not updated my site in so long, but you know what mommy has been super busy. We have some exciting news to share… I have a new baby brother named Bruno! Mommy met him last December at the same shelter I came from where she volunteers. He reminded her of my brother Captain- a crazy catahouligan (catahoula leopard dog). He was what she calls a bit “cray cray” (total opposite of me) and would body slam her and knock her over but he was so cute and she knew like me he just wasn’t going to make it out. Every time she thought she had a rescue plan for him it didn’t work. So she decided to foster him at our house. After a couple of months a rescue took ownership and then on mother’s day it became official he’s my little brother! Even Jasper who is picky about his siblings gets along with him… well when he’s not being cray cray. He sleeps in my room and mommy tells him all about me and how I watch over everyone because I’m an angel now. She tells him he is not allowed to rip up my bed because it is something I shared with him. He even has his own facebook page and fans who followed his whole story. Mommy and daddy were not going to adopt another dog and when they did daddy wanted a great dane and mommy OF COURSE wanted a MASTIFF like me (she said I helped her find her “breed”), but you know what mommy and daddy stayed true to just adopting a dog that needed a home and that happened to be a pittie catahoula she says he’s a “pittiehoula.” The funny thing is mommy would always tell  Captain she loves him and wouldn’t trade him, but he is a bit cray cray so she and that one catahoula in the house was enought! Daddy always wanted a great dane, but I sent Bruno. She wonders sometimes if I truly sent him, so I send little signs like he drools, hugs, has a smooshy face, and does a really good side eye… just like me.

Also, mommy and my oldest brother Jasper came to visit me recently before she left on a trip to the West Coast to present at a conference and see her family and friends in Seattle after 7 years. When she was there she told grandma that on the 2nd anniversary of me becoming an angel we all needed to be by the water since my last night I was on a boat with mommy. When mommy arrived at grandma’s grandma had filled the guest room with photos of me- mommy was so happy. Then on my anniversary they went to the water where everyone leaves special messages on the dock area. Mommy left me one all the way across the country! She says everyone should know how special I am.  And don’t worry mommy has a whole list of my “Angel Signs.” I got pretty creative and found new ways to surprise her because I’m her Zuzu Bear and she says she just needs me… needs to know I’m still close. Love ya mommy!

So mommy has been asking for an Angel sign. She kept waiting for our boat ride song to play on the radio and thinking I would visit on my brother Captain’s birthday like I did before, but nope… I decided to visit mommy on HER birthday. I have to make sure I always surprise her so she knows it’s really me. I can’t be predictable; otherwise mommy will think it’s just a coincidence. So I made sure to send mommy and grandma angel signs all week and on mommy’s birthday.

First, mommy happened to mention to grandma the name of our boat ride song and played it for her. Then grandma started looking up the artist and saw that he’d signed to Show Dog Universal Music. She asked mommy if she knew that and mommy said she’d never looked up the artist other than to download our song. Mommy got the spirit chills (she gets those when she is connecting with the spirit world to confirm it’s an actual message). Grandma got the spirit chills too.

Then mommy was at work and one of her students said they were sad the semester was ending and asked if they could visit mommy and she said sure at her office. Then they looked up, smiled and said, “I want to see Zeus.” Mommy was stunned she knew she must have talked about me to them, but couldn’t recall when and was just taken aback that of all the things they said, they mentioned me and just knew mommy had photos of me in her office. Yup, I’m so good at these Angel signs!

Then a couple days later I got grandma to mention this card she had that reminded her of me while unpacking from moving things to her new house. Grandma had asked grandpa if she should tell mommy about the card because it might make her sad and grandpa didn’t think she should, but she briefly mentioned it to mommy and mommy told her to send it… it was my birthday card to mommy!

The doggy on the front kind of looks like me and inside I told mommy how much I would love to see her face- she always said how much she loved my wrinkles and smooshy face. She would put her hands on my wrinkles and kiss me and say I had a “big ‘ol smooshy face.” I knew she would get the reference when grandma told her about it…

Then then next day just to make sure mommy knew the card & message was from me I had grandma find these 3 photos of me in her closet while she was cleaning and one of them was mommy kissing my “smooshy face” and was the exact photo shown at a pet memorial service mommy went to a couple weeks ago. Mommy sent in lots of my photos (including photos of her goddoggies and the shelter pups who have passed away) and the people picked one photo of each pup for the slideshow… of course you know the mommy kissing me photo was the one they chose to include in the service (it’s also the selfie mommy is most proud of and one of her fav photos of us).

Then just in case mommy still wasn’t convinced I played another one of our songs while she drove home with my brother Jasper from walking in the rain on her birthday.

She had happy tears running down her face and had to pull over. I made her dream about that song the night I left and she didn’t know why I wanted her to listen to the song because the lyrics didn’t make sense, but then she got it – the title is “My Comeback Song” and the video shows a place that looks exactly like the beautiful place mommy took me for Super Zeus Day and my boat ride the last day we had together. This time when she watched it she even noticed he is by a graveyard in one shot and one of the lyrics is “…I wish I had my arms around you, but I’ll just dream of you instead…”

I love how my mommy loves me and I love her so much I could never let something silly like not having a body stand in the way! So sorry it took me so long mommy, I was making big plans to surprise you!

P.S. Mommy thought I was done… nope I played my comeback song again today and when she went online she saw a doggy got adopted by one of the rescues she is friends with and guess what her name was… snickerdoodle… in case you just started following my blog that was mommy’s special nickname for me that not many people know and she even let me eat them and I loved them! Just wanted to pop up again and say “Hi Mommy” from your little snickerdoodle.
